Overview
We are a UK based organisation that aims to promote right to education for the needy.

Our organisation UgandaUK Convention (UCUK) promotes social inclusion and development of those most excluded from society.

About the School on Wheel Project

A bus remodelled to become a mobile classroom for children with no access to school facilities in slums of Kampala.

Our aim is to help children and families progress from poverty to prosperity. We plan to do this by partnering with local organizations that improve access to education, and job skills training. And support initiatives that improve communities and foster an environment where change is possible.

Many  Children from Different parts of Uganda like Karamoja, Northern Uganda which has had a civil war for the last 25yrs, travel to Kampala  Hoping for a better life ,reach the capital city Kampala and find life the opposite of what they  Expected ending up in the city slums, uneducated, child bride, exposed to Drugs, targeted as sex workers, raped and exposed to HIV/AIDS and  have  turned to fetching water and wood rather than learning to Read and Write and many Girls bear children while they are still children themselves. Uganda is missing out on a tremendous Economic opportunity for change. Educated Children in these Urban slums of Katanga and Kivulu can break the cycle of poverty in these Slums.

What do we need the money for?

If you make a donation to the Project, you will be helping us to:

  • support individuals, groups, and partner organisations wishing to set up their own mobile learning spaces or further develop their own educational interventions
  • support the integration of vulnerable children in mainstream schools and communities and promote social cohesion

‘Let Them Learn’ is a mobile-classroom that aims to bring education to the disadvantaged, focusing on science, mathematics, history and geography, to various government and non-government schools as well as orphanages. The van will been kitted with educational resources, such as maps and maths games, as well as toys and illustrated posters to teach the children lessons on morality.

Goal 4 of the UN Sustainable Development targets for 2030, which hinge on the importance of educating and empowering youth to enable human development, dictates that countries have an obligation to ‘ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.’ Given that India has the largest youth population in the world, it shoulders a massive responsibility in driving the realisation of this fundamental goal.
